Launched by STPI in the beginning of 2014, the Policy Research Indicators Database (PRIDE) releases its 3rd version that adds in “A Glimpse Into The World”(圖解看世界) and “Dashboards in Topics”(主題式儀表板) on the main page. These new functions enable readers to quickly obtain a general understanding of a specific topic that draws great attention in international society. The graphically transformed data plus the new interaction design make PRIDE a friendlier gateway to the world of science and technology for the general public. |
The upgrade of PRIDE comes from STPI’s new action to re-package the enormous data stored in the databases that has been established for more than 4 decades. Instead of continuously providing quality services for its primary users, the local policy makers and researchers, PRIDE aims to play the leading role to make “numbers talk” in Taiwan’s science and technology society.

More than 10 million data collected by PRIDE are from Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Eurostat, World Economic Forum (WEF), World Bank, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Asian Development Bank (ADB) … and etc. These data include statistics in various subjects, world competitiveness ranking, and academic capacity in different fields in more than 250 countries in the world.
