Biomedical EcoSystem Development Office in Taiwan (BEST)

Building upon the blueprint of the Biomedical Industry Innovation Program, this team aims to help improve the mechanism for selecting potential development areas and optimize the commercialization mentorship provided to businesses. To do so, the team investigates the resources available to boost the innovation of Taiwan’s biomedical industry and identifies the industry niche in the global value chain. The obtained insights shall contribute to advancing from research to product commercialization, from innovation to product specialization, and from domestic innovation clusters to global markets.

The project team seeks to enhance Taiwan’s innovation ecosystem by undertaking the following principal tasks: optimizing the BioTaiwan Innovation Invest Database; systematically reinforcing innovative development area selection and its complementing commercialization mentorship with value-chain analysis; bridging home-and-abroad accelerators; organizing networking events for startups such as early investment matchmaking event and startup ecosystem gatherings across sectors; participating in biomedical expos.
