The main tasks of the Industry Trends Analysis Project Team include (1) standardization of procedures of evaluation methodologies for the industrialization of emerging technologies and (2) formulation of policy frameworks for various technology domains, information gathering, and research and analysis. The Taiwanese government has allocated a budget for the R&D of emerging technologies to drive the field's industrialization, hoping it would contribute to the country's economy. To facilitate this vision, the Team strives to consolidate relevant evaluation methodologies and establish standard operating procedures accordingly to improve the speed and credibility of evaluation mechanisms for the industrialization of emerging technologies. Apart from that, in view of Taiwan's abundant experiences in analyzing policy issues across various technology domains in the past few decades, the Team is also tasked with systematizing such experiences to boost the efficiency of analysis of new technology domains in the future.
