STPI Celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the CONCERT Program 2018.11.19

CONCERT Program celebrated its 20th anniversary by hosting the “2018 Electronic Resources and Consortia Program” on November 12-13.  The topic of the Program is “CONCERT 20- Passion Rekindled, Idea Entangled”.  A number of local and international experts specialized in library and information sciences are invited to share their insights in such emerging issues as digital development in academia, Open Access, digital preservation and so on.  Representatives from major international publishers are also invited to give talks in the Program.

CONCERT (CONsortium on Core Electronic Resources in Taiwan) is a nonprofit consortium of 200 colleges, universities and research /government organizations.  It was officially launched in 1998 and now is conducted by the STPI.  When delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Yuh-Jzer Joung, the Director General of STPI, showed gratitude and recognition to all partners from the government, libraries and universities for their continuous support and contribution.  Dr. Joung also indicated that STPI will continue to be the important driving force in academia and research sectors in Taiwan to build an environment for national development in science & technology and innovation.
